Shalom! My name is Elyse and I'm originally from Santa Clara, California. I made my first trip to Israel in 1996 then promptly moved here in 1997. After having returned to The States for several years, I'm now back in Israel, permanently, since 2006.

River Park Guest House TLV is run by myself and my husband (Guy). Between the two of us, we make a great team and we'll be able to help you navigate through cultural and language barriers that you are bound to run into during your stay in Israel. You'll find that having a Western host (that speaks Hebrew and knows Tel Aviv) is a huge advantage and will make your stay enjoyable and stress-free!

We LOVE hosting people and building the perfect getaway for visitors. I, myself, have traveled to many countries (including several places in Israel) and I've seen what's missing when it comes to accommodations. Guy and I have tried to make the River Park Guest House a place that anyone would feel comfortable to call home.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

Our FULLY EQUIPPED Guest House is centrally located in one of the hottest neighborhoods in Tel Aviv...The Old North. All the dining, shopping, entertainment & nightlife that Tel Aviv has to offer is within walking distance of River Park Guest House.

But don't worry...there is plenty of relaxation only steps from the Guest House! Villa Spa, one of Tel Aviv's boutique spas, is right down the street. Pamper yourself with a massage, facial, or even a couple's spa treatment. If you prefer relaxing in the outdoors, Park HaYarkon, Tel Aviv's largest park (featuring the Yarkon River running it's length) has plenty of space to spread out, have a picnic, take a boat ride, go for a run, or let the kids play at the numerous playgrounds that are thoughtfully spaced along the riverbank. A leisurely walk along The Yarkon will even bring you to the Tel Aviv Port, a beautifully renovated area with a large boardwalk and all the shopping and dining you could ask for, right on The Sea!

There are an abundance of boutique shops, cafes and salons along Ibn Gabirol & Yehuda HaMaccabi streets. For your convenience there is even a 24-hour supermarket across the street from the Guest House!

TRANSPORTATION:
Public transportation is abundant and easily accessible. There are buses, 'moniot sherut' (shared 'taxi' service in short yellow vans), and of course taxis at every turn. Download the app 'Get Taxi' and you'll always be able to find a cab. You can even pay the fare (and tip) with a credit card via 'Get Taxi'. There is also a convenient, automated bicycle rental station right downstairs! A map will be waiting for you when you arrive at the Guest House. We will be happy to point out any sights or help you with bus routes, directions, etc.

ATTRACTIONS:
There is no shortage of things to do in Tel Aviv. The Tel Aviv Museum Of Art is only a short taxi ride away. If that's not enough art for you, you can walk up Gordon Street and visit the myriad of art galleries that line the road.

If you're a beach lover, then you've come to the right city! The water is warm and the sand is a plenty. Enjoy a cocktail while sitting at a table in the sand and watching the sunset. Kite flying, surfing, windsurfing, parasailing, boogie boarding, 'Matkot' - the national sport, and of course, suntanning are all happening here in Tel Aviv. Come to the beach to play or to people watch. It's never a disappointment.

For the shopoholics amongst us, here are the street names you need to know: Allenby, Ben Yehuda, Dizengoff, King George & Sheinken. You'll never be bored of the colorful wares being peddled by seemingly uninterested staff. You'll find everything you could ever want...on any budget. For a truly cultural experience, you MUST visit "Shuk HaCarmel" - the Carmel outdoor market. If you go at a busy time (which pretty much seems like ALL the time) it's like walking onto the set of an Indiana Jones movie. Boxes of spices, sweets, vegetables, breads...all out on display. It's one of the few places we know that one can buy fresh fish, underwear, and a pirated copy of the latest movie, all in the same place. On Tuesdays and Fridays there is the added bonus of an additional outdoor market right next door where local artists come to sell their goods. Some of it's kitchy, some is amazing, and all is a feast for the eyes.

So, you'll probably get hungry at some point during your stay. Well, you're in luck! There are over 1,000 restaurants in Tel Aviv proper. There is everything: vegan, vegetarian, steak, fish, falafel, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Indian, Italian, Hungarian, Russian, French, fine dining, street dining...the list goes on and on. Of course, you can also order Dominos Pizza (1-700-70-70-70).

We HIGHLY recommend having a brunch at 'Manta Ray' (03.517.4773) located on Alma Beach in South Tel Aviv. Ask for a table overlooking the water. Another (lower budget) breakfast place that is the closest I've found to having anything remotely resembling an 'American Breakfast' is called 'Benedict's' located at Ben Yehuda 171. They don't take reservations so you have to arrive early.

If you are craving sushi, you have many options. Our favorite is 'Onami' (03.562.1172) located at HaArba'a 18. It's not cheap, but it's worth it. For just a casual night of light sushi eating, I'd hit up Japanika (eat in or delivery) at Dizengoff 128 or 'Moon' at Bograshov 58.

How about some Hummus? Two of our favorites are on Yermiyahu Street (Hummus Asaf & Hummus Ashkara). Our number one pick is Hummus Mashawsha at Pinsker 40 (near the corner of Bograshov). YUM YUM YUM!

Of course we are happy to help answer any questions you might have and help you in any way possible. We want you to enjoy your stay!
